January 1998 until September 2000 - Principal Geologist, Kookynie Resources NL
I was responsible for the exploration of the Kookynie gold, base metal and diamond project. The portfolio consisted of 32 combined project groups, in excess of 200 tenements and 92 joint venture agreements. The properties covered highly prospective and under-explored Archaean Greenstone terrain which prior to 1912 produced in excess of 600 000 ounces gold. Exploration was undertaken on a staged basis: Regional Assessment, Anomaly Definition, Anomaly Verification, Resource Delimitation, and Resource Assessment. Extensive use was made of Geographical Information System data, with progressive target definition. The project was sold into a publicly listed company.
July 1996 to December 1997 - Regional Exploration Manager, Pegasus Gold Australia Pty Ltd.
I was responsible for the exploration and development of geological resources, focused upon the precious metals in the Archaean Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia, which included Binduli North, Lehmanns Well, Gum Creek, Birrigrin Bore, Kathleen Valley, Hong Kong Bore, Nambi, Jasper Hills, Ottobore, Weebo, The Binduli North project was defined at a Indicated/Inferred resource status of 2Moz.
September 1995 until July 1996 – Exploration Manager, Haoma Mining NL
I was responsible for the exploration, development and planning of geological resources and minable reserves of the companies tenements. The principal projects include the Nolans gold project in Queensland, the Bamboo Creek and Lalla Rookha projects in the Pilbara, and the Linden - Devon gold projects in the Eastern Goldfields. The geological environment consists of Mesozoic felsic to intermediate magmatic porphyry copper gold deposits; gold bearing breccia pipes; and Archaean shear hosted gold deposits.
July 1992 until September 1995 – Chief Mine Geologist, Coolgardie Gold N.L.
I was responsible for the mine lease exploration, development and planning of minable reserves, the mine geology function of open pit and underground gold mines, and temporary operations management of the open pit mines. Production was 55 000 ounces of fine gold per annum, with published resources and reserves of 800 000 ounces of gold. The geological environment consists of shear hosted gold mineralization associated with ultramafic and mafic volcanics within the Archaean Coolgardie Greenstone Belt.
January 1991 until June 1992 - Project Geological Engineer, International Mining Consultants.
I was responsible for the exploration, feasibility and development planning of the Fortescue Scree Iron Ore Deposit, a 215 million tonnes resource, located in the Pilbara Region of Western Australia. The geological environment consisted of supergene enriched, banded iron formations associated with a shale - litharenite association, within the Lower Proterozoic Hamersley Basin.
September 1989 to January 1991 - Senior Mine Planning Engineer, Metana Minerals NL.
I was responsible for the feasibility, development and operations planning of gold projects located at Mount Magnet, Reedys, and Youanmi in the Murchison Region of Western Australia. Combined annual production was 200 000 ounces of fine gold per annum. The geological environment consisted of shear hosted gold mineralization associated with ultramafic and mafic volcanics within the Archaean Murchison Greenstone Belt.
September 1987 until September 1989 - Technical Superintendent, Bond International Gold NL.
I was responsible for the provision of technical services, resource and reserve estimation, and mine planning to gold operations at Fimiston, Mount Percy, Jubilee, and Barbara/Surprise. Combined production was 250 000 ounces fine gold per annum. The geological environment consisted of shear hosted gold mineralization associated with ultramafic-mafic volcanics within the Archaean Norseman-Wiluna Greenstone Belt.
January 1987 until September 1987 - Contract Computer Geologist, North Broken Hill Peko Pty. Ltd.
I was responsible for the geological resource and mineable reserve estimation for the Bottle Creek gold mine, the Poona copper-gold project, and preliminary resource assessment of the Coronation Hill uranium-platinum project.
November 1980 until October 1985 - Geotechnical Engineer, Rossing Mine, Rio Tinto Zinc Corporation, Namibia.
I was responsible for the implementation of the geotechnical pit slope stability and design procedures for a large open pit operation. The geological environment consisted of uraniferous leucogranites (alaskites) within the Upper Proterozoic Damara uranium province in Southern Africa.
October 1979 until October 1980 - Mine Geologist, Underground Operations, Anglo American Corporation, Welkom, South Africa.
I was responsible for the geological planning and control of the Number 5 Shaft large scale underground gold mining operation, producing 1.4 million tonnes @ 9 g/t per annum. The geological environment consisted of gold and uranium mineralization associated with quartz-rich conglomerate and sandstones within the Late Archaean - Lower Proterozoic Witwatersrand Supergroup of Southern Africa.
September 1975 until September 1978 - Exploration and Mine Geologist, Roan Consolidated Mines, Zambia, Central Africa.
I was responsible for exploration, geological planning and control of open pit and underground copper-cobalt and copper-gold-silver developments and operations. The geological environment consisted of copper and cobalt mineralization associated with a diverse a "land to shelf" meta-sedimentary environment, and epithermal gold mineralization associated with syenite-diorite-gabbro intrusives, within the Katangan Supergroup in the Lufilian Arc in Central Africa.
